Download for your Mac.
An early public release is available. The ZIP contains the signed, notarized Lean Term app for Apple silicon. macOS 26 or later is required.
The download link always points to the latest public release on GitHub. The source is free to inspect, build, and contribute to.

The app is signed and notarized. If you are replacing an existing copy manually, finish or save your terminal work and quit Lean Term before replacing the app.
Updates that let you finish your work.
Lean Term checks for updates on launch and about hourly, and can download updates automatically. You can also choose Check for Updates from the app menu to check immediately.
Installation respects the confirmation before closing active terminal sessions. Cancel to keep working, then resume the prepared update when you are ready.
We verified a real in-app upgrade, including cancelling and resuming installation, with saved settings and window placement preserved.
What’s available.
The initial app includes native windows and tabs, Find, saved window position and size, Forest and Graphite themes, visual settings, and editable keyboard shortcuts.
Use Command–Left and Command–Right to move between tabs, wrapping from one end to the other.
